My Trip to Mt Kota Kinabalu

Just 4 days before my Mt Kota Kinabalu Trek in Sabah, (highest mountain in South East Asia), both my neck and lower back pain started acting up, I was desperate because I was in deep pain. And the fact that I have to lead this climb with a group of friends made me even more desperate. I was torn between having to let my friends down or suffer the risk of injury and besides, the trip has been fully paid for.

My Training Program

Then, I chanced upon Joanna’s Pilates website and I like what were written there and decided to call. I felt pretty good after talking with Joanna and decided to do a drop in session. Just only one session, my neck felt so good; something I had not felt for a long time. I signed up for a full program on the spot. After the second session, I was full of confidence for the trek which during and after, I feel no pain at all and enjoyed myself thoroughly. All despite the fact that it is an extremely tough trek!

My Achievement

All my friends and myself felt this fantastic sense of achievement for having successfully reached the summit at 4088m elevation. I must thank Joanna for her effective sessions, without which I wouldn’t have the confidence at all. Although I have gone through 5 sessions of my training program, I really felt I have fully recovered. The persistent pain I felt at my back each morning seems to have gone for good. What magic had Joanna done! I am now looking forward to my next 5 sessions.
